What A Day!

The Buddy Walk is held annually throughout the United States as an advocacy and awareness event for Down syndrome. Buddy Walk 2009 was our largest walk held here on the Gulf Coast. This year it was fantastic to see over 1,500 people in attendance as these pictures reflect not several families but one big happy family and one ENORMOUS realm of support.

Without the efforts of our sponsors, our families, our friends, our teams, our volunteers, this event would certainly not be possible. While we could not post all of the pictures since we had in excess of 2,000 photo's this year we hope you enjoy the one's we have posted. We will be showing additional pictures at our Christmas Party on December 12th.

We certainly hope you, your children, your friends, families and co-workers enjoyed the day as well. We can only hope that next year's event will be just as phenomenal.  Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!!!

Special Thanks

A special thank you to Magnolia Classic Cruisers for all of their support this year as well as our many, many sponsors who assisted in making this year's event a huge success; our guest speakers Irwin F. Edenzon, Sector VP & General Manager of Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding Gulf Coast and Special Olympics Board Member, Mike Gilly author of "Best Friends - The Story of Derek"; our Emcee Walter Brown; to ALL of our many special volunteers; our Board Members; our DJs - Mike Burch and Stan Harkleroad; and also our web designer and photographers Shawn and Tanya Stanaland of Tempered Light Professional Media Services.

Another very special thank you to our families and our teams who made this event fun and with many laughs and stories to tell in the future.
