About the Buddy Walk
The Buddy Walk® was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. Today, the Buddy Walk® program is supported nationally by NDSS and organized at the local level by parent support groups, schools and other organizations and individuals.

20th Annual Buddy Walk “Drive Parade”
Saturday, October 17, 2020
10am – 12pm
(parking lot near waterslides/soccer fields)
Due to the guidelines of social distancing, our Buddy Walk will be a drive through parade; however, we will have fun stuff happening so be sure to decorate your car, truck, or even golf cart with your Ds Team name or anyhow you wish.
T-shirt registration/information will be available soon AND yard signs will be available this year as a sponsorship for $75.00 each. The yard signs will be on display during the parade. At the end of the event, the family will get to keep their yard sign for their own use.
To help with raising funds, we would like to ask all families of an individual with Ds to help sell ONE yard sign sponsorship as this will be our only fundraiser for the Buddy Walk this year. The yard sign will have a photo of the individual with Ds and the name/company of the sponsor. Cash donations are always welcome.
*If a family feels they are unable to secure a yard sign sponsorship for their loved one, please reach out to the GCDSS board for assistance.
